Russell Wilson led the Seattle Seahawks to reverse the game versus the Seattle Seahawks. The 12-10 win was like many we have seen from Seattle in Wilson’s tenure, but this one had a twist.
Dolphins defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh accidentally stepped on Wilson’s foot in the game. Wilson’s mobility has obviously been impacted by the injury so that he could not escape the impact of the opponent or move at quarterback protection.
Wilson did not care about the injury and said: “I’ll be all right. I’ll be ready to roll (next week).”
However, the NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, Wilson ankle sprain is so serious to let him miss the next game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Whether Wilson will play or not, the Seahawks expect to sign a veteran quarterback when undrafted rookie Trevone Boykin is the team’s only quarterback.
The Seahawks initially thought Wilson could not continue the game. “We were ready to go with Boykin, but Russell jumped back out,” Carroll said after the game.
We have a hard time betting against Wilson forcing his way onto the field next week. Facing a dominant Rams defensive front might cause the Seahawks coaching staff to consider strapping Wilson to the bench.
